The international children's book fare Bologna 2010 took place between March 23 and 26 in 2010. Within this prominent international cultural forum, Slovakia and its book culture held the special position of the guest of honour.
A special publication of the children's magazine Slniečko / Little Sun presented Slovak literature for children and young adults to Italian readers. It featured texts about the history and cultural heritage of Slovakia, fairy tales, texts od Ľubomír Feldek, Miroslav Válek, Mária Ďuríčková, Tomáš Janovic, Ondrej Sliacky, Daniel Hevier, Ján Uličiansky, Dana Podracká, Jaroslava Blažková, Erik Groch, František Rojček, Peter Holka, Ján Milčák or Marta Šurinová. Individual poems and stories are accompanied by illustrations by Albín Brunovsky, Svetozár Mydlo, Katarína Ilkovičová, Martina Matlovičova and others. Jana Kiselová-Siteková was the author of the cover illustration of the sun.
