Frankfurt Book Fair 2021

The Frankfurter Buchmesse book fair is back after a two-year pause caused by the Covid 19 pandemics. The guest of honor of the 73th edition is Canada, introducing for the first time English- as well as French-language books by renown Canadian authors.

Between 20 and 24 October, the prestigious book fair will take place live and also in digital form that proved very popular last year, bringing together the international publishing industry under the motto “Re:connect – Welcome back to Frankfurt”: 1,500 exhibitors from more than 70 countries along with some 200 authors will once again turn Frankfurter Buchmesse into a marketplace for content and a celebration of books.

The national exposition of the Slovak republic, put together by LIC, the Slovak Literary Center, will be positioned at Hall 4 B 66, due to an overall reconstruction taking place. The Slovak stand of over 48 square meters will present 50 Slovak publishing subjects with more than 500 book titles on its premises. Slovak fiction writer Michal Hvorecký will be in Frankfurt to introduce the German publication of his book Tahiti: Utopia. The presentation with host Thomas Böhm will take place at the Goethe Institute stand.
