The theme of being a stranger is key in the life and work of the award-winning author Irena Brežná. Born in Slovakia, she has been living in the German-speaking Switzerland since her youth. In the newest edition of LIT_cast Slowakei, she tells Mirko Moritz Kraetsch about how she lives the life of a stranger in a conscious and positive way, about her relationship to Slovak, her mother tongue and German, her everyday and literary tongue, and about where she sees herself within these two linguistic and cultural circles.
