One of the most interesting contemporary Slovak poets, Mária Ferenčuhová will present her work – a translation of her poetry collection Černozem into Spanish (Tierra Negra, published by Vaso Roto, 2022) at two festivals in Spain in May.
The first is the Basque festival Poetas en Mayo / Poetak Maiatzean / Poets in May, a unique festival not only for its month-long duration but also for its commitment to the city and the territory.
Another venue is the Madrid Book Fair / Feria del Libro de Madrid (26 May - 11 June 2023), an annual festival located in Madrid's Buen Retiro Park, where Slovakia will also be represented in the EU stand thanks to the SLC's cooperation with the Slovak Embassy in Madrid.
