Results for the 2nd Round of Eleuzína Residencies

The following eight applicants have been chosen for the residential stay at the cultural center Eleuzína in the 2nd half of 2021.

12 July – 25 July Júlia Oreská (writing of the debut novel Posledná Havranka / The Last Raveness)

26 July – 8 August Nóra Ružičková (translating the book by Marion Poschmann: Psia novela / The Dog Novella from German)

9 August – 22 August Klaudia Donková (translating the novel by Florina Ilis: Päť farebných oblakov na svitajúcej oblohe / Five Colorful Clouds in the Downing Sky from Romanian)

23 August – 6 September Peter Zsoldos  (translations of poems by Fernando Pessoa: selection of poetry from Portugal)

27 September – 10 October Erik Šimšík (writing of the experimental-poetry collection Ľudia / People)

11 October – 24 October Ivan Štrpka (writing of the poetry collection Posunky, fakty / Gestures, Facts)

1 November – 14 November Mário Drgoňa (adapting Balla's novella V mene otca / In the Name of the Father for theatre)

22 November – 5 December Eva Lalkovičová (translating the poetry collection by María Sanchéz: Poľný zápisník/ Zápisník z vidieka // Field Notes/Notes from the Country from Spanish)
 

KC Eleuzína and Literárne informačné centrum / The Slovak Literary Center are the creators and organizers of the residency. Out of a total of twenty applications, the residents were chosen by the following committee members: Barbora Németh, Dagmar Zúbková, Katarína Balcarová Kucbelová, Petra Mikulášová and Peter Michalík.
The committee wanted to grant equal opportunities for translators and writers. Furthermore, its members judged the applications based on their artistic value and likelihood of realization of the presented work. They also wanted to maintain a generational diversity and a diversity in terms of genre, and to give space to the new generation. The committe considered the applicants'chosen dates as well, and whether the candidates have been residents of either the TROJICA AIR or the KC Eleuzína residency program before.
