Curriculum vitae

Between 1973 and 1978 Jagodziński studies Czech and Slovak philology in Warsaw. As a student he collaborated with the Polish and Czechoslovakian democratic opposition, he arranged the first contact between KSS-KOR and Charta 77. In the 70s and 80s he collaborated with independent Polish periodicals and publishers and with Czechoslovakian exile magazines: Svědectví (Paris), Rozmluvy (London) and Obrys (Munich).

He has been translating Czech and Slovak literature into Polish since 1978. He translated works of Václav Havel, Milan Kundera, Bohumil Hrabal, Václav Kohout, Jozef Škvorecky, Viktor Fischl, Jiří Gruša, Egon Hostovsky, Karol Sidon, Dušan Mitana, Rudolf Sloboda, Martin M. Šimečka and others. 

He had worked for the radio Slobodná Európa in Poland, he was the director of the Polish Institute in Prague, the creative director of the Visegrad Festival 4+ and the executive director of the International Visegrad Fund in Bratislava, among other, equally exciting creative jobs that he had held and that he keeps pursuing to this day.
