Arpád Soltész has come face to face with many incredible and brutal stories in his work as an investigative journalist. Thus, his fiction is inspired by real life. He is one of the most renowned journalists in Slovakia and over the course of his career, he has covered topics like politics, the mafia, and the privatization of the 1990’s. He has worked for a number of media and currently holds the position of a political commentator in TV JOJ. His novel Mäso / Flesh (2017) on the methods of the mafia employed by the authorities in eastern Slovakia was a popular success and it has received several awards.
