Curriculum vitae

Helliana Ianculescu studied Slovak language and literature, and Czech language and literature at the Faculty of Slavic languages in Bucharest. She was active in Romanian academia. She has retired and is a freelance translator and a member of the Association of Romanian writers. She has translated Ako chutí moc by Ladislav MňačkoPomocník by Ladislav Ballek, Osudy zlatých pokladov by Milan Varoš, Na počiatku bol Sumer by Vojtech Zamarovský, Stalo sa prvého septembra (alebo inokedy) by Pavol Rankov,  
Piata loď by Monika Kompaníková and a great number of articles from Slovak. She is currently translating the novel Scenár by Etela Farkašová. Her published translations from Czech include works by Karel Čapek, Jan Neruda, Jaroslav Seifert, Václav Havel, Petr Sis, Petra Hůlová and Alena Ježková.
