Within the context of Slovak literature Červenák represents the perhaps most distinguished voice of the fantasy genre, specifically heroic fantasy and historical fiction. He likes to use elements of horror and western in his writing. He draws his inpsiration from literature as well as from the poetics and motives of certain types of films (spaghetti-western movies, Once Upon a Time in the West, etc.) and favors dynamic plot-lines resembling at times the tempo of film cuts, with obligatory use of action scenes.
