Juraj ČERVENÁK was born in 1974 in Žiar nad Hronom. He grew up in the town of Banská Štiavnica where he graduated from high school in 1992. During the 1990's, he worked odd jobs, having been a security guard, a doorman and an employee of the local cultural center and the manager of the town's movie theatre. Between 2005 – 2011, he lived in Košice, since 2011 he moved back to Banská Štiavnica. He is one of the few professional writers in Slovakia, writing fantasy books as well as reviews published in magazines like Fantázia, Pevnost, Blokbaster and DVD Mag. Even though he writes most of his literary texts in Slovak, they come out in Slovak as well as in Czech, and for commercial reasons, most of his literary novels are published in the Czech Republic in Czech translaton (mainly by Robert Pilch).
