Michal HARPÁŇ studied the literatures of Yugoslavia at the Faculty of Arts in Novi Sad, where he has been working since 1969. He is currently a professor and head of the Slovak language and literature department there. He also teaches Slovak literature at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Belgrade, and the theory of literature in Szeged. He is the author of numerous scientific titles and monographies, as well as collections of literary essays and reviews, and anthologies. He translates works of Slovak prose and literary science into Serbian.
