Peter Glocko was born in 1946 in Muráň and grew up in Partizánske. He completed the Secondary Chemical Engineering School in Bratislava. After graduation he worked as a chemist, from 1966 as the editor of books on nature and history and of original Slovak prose in Mladé letá, a publishing house specialising in books for children and young adults, later in the publishing houses Osveta and Smena and in the publishing house Slovenský spisovateľ (Slovak Writer). He died in Bratislava in 2019.
