Curriculum vitae

A prose writer, art theorist and art historian, Rút Lichnerová studied at the Faculty of Arts at Comenius University in Bratislava. She has curated numerous art exhibitions and has worked at the Slovak Mining Museum and at the Jozef Kollár Gallery in Banská Štiavnica. Her stories are often connected to the towns of Dolný Kubín, where she grew up, and Banská Štiavnica, where she lives. Her literary debut V Kremenisku (In Kremenisko, 1989) sparked the interest of both literary critics and readers. Since then her most important works have been the short-stories collection Slepá rybka (Blind Fish, 1998) and the novel Anna Regina (2006), both about the remarkable wife of the cartographer and technical wizard, Samuel Mikovíni. Her novel Hostina (The Feast, 2015) was nominated for the Anasoft Litera Award in 2016.
