Soňa Uriková was born in Považská Bystrica, graduated with a degree in screenwriting and dramaturgy from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. Her debut short story collection Živé ploty (Hedges) was published in 2015, and in 2020 she wrote the children’s book Jašo na jarmoku (Jašo at a Fair). She organizes the literary project Medziriadky, conducts creative writing workshops, appears on radio broadcast sand writes for literary magazines and book anthologies.
