Curriculum vitae

Tomasz Grabiński graduated from Slovak studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Between 2009 and 2014 he lived in Slovakia and worked as the deputy director of the Polish Institute in Bratislava. Currently, he is a librarian at the City Library in Vroclav where he coorganizes the Polish section of the international festival Month of Authorial Reading. 

He published his first translations from Slovak in 1997. He translates books and articles from the fields of contemporary prose, history, journalism, as well as film subtitles and theatre plays. in 2014 he received the Central European Prize Angelus for his translation of Pavol Rankov's novel Stalo sa prvého septembra (alebo inokedy).
