Curriculum vitae

Tünde Mészáros (1970, Bratislava) graduated summa cum laude from the Faculty of Arts at the Charles University in Prague. She has been a literary translator since 2008. In 2018, she was the recipient of the Visegrad Literary Residency in Budapest. In 2020, she spent a month at the Trojica residency for translators in Banská Štiavnica, organized by LIC. She is one of the founders of BÁZIS (Hungarian Association of Literature and Arts in Slovakia). She mostly translates contemporary Slovak literature, e.g. Veronika Šikulová, Daniela Kapitáňová, Pavol Rankov, Peter Balko, Ondrej Štefánik. She is currently finishing the translation of Silvester Lavrík's novel Nedeľné šachy s Tisom / Sunday Chess with Tiso and getting ready to start new projects: Tomáš Forró's book Donbass and Katarína Kucbelová's Čepiec / The Bonnet. She lives in Budapest.
