The basic storyline is a fictional conflict between “Slovak Home Defence” and “Great Hungarian separatists”, played out in the near future in the southern regions of Slovakia. Despite the background of war and the employment of charged social topics such as extremism, nationalism, and religious fanaticism, Pavol Rankov's book (published in Slovak under the pseudonym Peter Pečonka) is notable for its wit, broad perspective, and above all style, which is more like that of an experienced writer than a debutant.
