LIC offers artistic residencies TROJICA AIR in Banská Štiavnica for translators of Slovak literature into other languages

About grant

Basic information:

The Literary Information Center, the town of Banská Štiavnica and Literatúra CA offer 11 month-long residencies to translators of Slovak literature into other languages TROJICA AIR (artist in residence) in 2020.

The TROJICA AIR residency originated from the initiative of ŠTOKOVEC CA. In its first year, the civic association collaborated with the town of Banská Štiavnica and successfully hosted residencies for visual artists.

Štokovec CA and Banská Štiavnica offered the established residential space for a different type of residency and the Literary Information Center embraced their offer. By doing so, LIC partially filled the void within the field of translation of Slovak literature and its support.

The translator is offered a 1-bedroom apartment and study in the centre of Banská Štiavnica on Trojičné námestie (entry from Radničné námestie) and a monthly stipend of 1000 euro

LIC does not cover the travel cost or any other costs of the resident.

The residency is offered to the translator only (without any accompanying persons).
