About us

The F. R. & G. publishing house and Fragment magazine, one of the leading European cultural journals, came to existence during the communist régime as a samizdat publication. In 1989 – after the Velvet Revolution – all of these activities became legal. However, the publisher's essential mission has not changed at all – they support the publishing of original Slovak works which are characterized by literary quality and long-term value, and which are not primarily meant for commercial success.
