PERFEKT was founded in 1990 as a publisher of historical literature, authentic Slovak literature and non-fiction for children, young people and adults. The decision to promote Slovak titles led to the establishment of a very successful series entitled Great Figures of Slovak History as well as the Illustrated Slovak History series. PERFEKT has been publishing its own periodicals and a high-circulation journal for school children titled Fifik for 25 years. The publisher PERFEKT has received the highest awards in the annual The Most Beautiful Book of Slovakia competition organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic and the BIBIANA – International House of Art for Children.
