Well-known Slovak author who had lived in Canada. While still in Czechoslovakia, she was a staff member at the daily Smena. She was dismissed from her job in 1956 and banned from publishing her work for political reasons. Later, she became one of the most important authors in Mladá Tvorba, the magazine that represented the young literary generation. After the 1968 Russian invasion, her family left for Canada where they settled in Toronto. There, she worked for the legendary exile publishing house Josef Škvorecký had foundes, 68 Publishers.
