Slovak illustrator Daniela Olejníková and graphic designer Palo Bálik awarded at Bologna Ragazzi Award 2024

The Bologna Ragazzi Award 2024 in the Non-Fiction category goes to Czech Republic

Myko, a book by Czech publisher Baobab, written by Jiří Dvořák and illustrated by Slovak illustrator Daniela Olejníková and designed by Slovak graphic designer Palo Bálik, has won the Bologna Ragazzi Award 2024 in the Non-Fiction category. This prestigious international showcase of the best and most innovative illustrated books in the world annually awards prizes in several categories.

The Czech publishing house Baobab has once again triumphed, this time with an impressive book that is an affectionate newsletter from the world of mushrooms.

Daniela Olejníková, one of the most prominent personalities of contemporary Slovak book illustration, is the winner of several awards. At this time, she primarily works with digital illustration, but likes to alternate with other techniques (linocut, water color, acrylic).

Pavol Bálik is the author and co-author of several publications in the field of typography and type design. He also organizes and co-organizes exhibitions in the field of type design and typography at home and abroad. He is the recipient of many awards for book design.
