The Devil Kolophon

The book O čertovi Kolofónovi [The Devil Kolophon] was written in 2017 as a transcription of the play of the touring puppet theatre Morgonrock. In 2022 it was reimagined and published together with the story’s sequels, Kolophon and the Three Blocks of Yeast and Kolophon and Zero Waste, the Hunter of Plastic. A naive and timid devil, sent out into the world to find mischievous children, stumbles upon brave Janko and Marienka (Hansel and Gretel), who help him become a true devil. In the first part of the trilogy, Kolophon falls in love with a witch, Ježibaba. In the second, Kolophon, now a father, sets out to look for three blocks of yeast as the world is plagued by hunger. In the third, despite his laziness and unwillingness to sort waste, he becomes the chosen one. Only with the help of a wooden marionette is Kolophon able to help the hero Zero Waste win the fight against the single-use plastic manufacturer Consumencio Consumini.
