KK BAGALA is a publisher of the contemporary Slovak literature (prose, poetry and criticism). Since its founding in 1991, it has published 400 books by more than 100 authors. The publishing house represents the best authors in the country who annually become the recipients of many Slovak or international prizes, such as Bank Austria Literaris, Anasoft Litera, Dominik Tatarka Prize, Ivan Krasko Prize, Tatra Banka Foundation Prize and many others. It has become Publisher of the Year.
The publishing house closely cooperates with the NGO literarnyklub.sk, organises cultural events in Slovakia and abroad, and participates in many international projects and festivals (more than 100 per year). The publisher represents its writers in selling the copyrights to translations.
