Aiga Veckalne is a translator from Slovak, Czech, and English to Latvian, and a Latvian linguist. She began her translation career in 2000. From 2003 - 2014 she was the head of the language agency "Skřivánek Group" in Central and Eastern Europe and the managing director of the "Skřivánek Baltic" agency.
In 2009, she received an MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.
From 2017 - 2018, she taught Latvian language, Latvian culture and literature at the University of Washington in Seattle. She is currently a lecturer and researcher at the Ventspils University of Applied Sciences, where she is studying a doctoral study programme "Linguistics" which deals with the transcription of proper nouns from Czech, Polish, and Slovak.
