The TRANOSCIUS Evangelical publishing house was founded in 1898 as a joint society for publishing and bookselling. Today, the company publishes a full range of religious books, calendars, registers, textbooks and printed matter for the needs of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Slovakia and for nationals abroad. TRANOSCIUS received awards in the Slovakia's Most Beautiful Books competition in 1996 for Čítanie z Údelu by Milan Rúfus, Hájnikova žena by P. O. Hviezdoslav and Bájky by Jean de la Fontaine. It has also been honoured in the Kniha Liptova competition.
