The publishing house specialises in literature for children and young readers, focusing mostly on the age range from two to ten years. BUVIK has been on the Slovak book market since 1991. Its catalogue includes richly illustrated children's poetry, classical and contemporary fairy tales, folk tales, fables and picture books. A number of titles produced by the publishing house have been honoured as "The Most Beautiful Book of Slovakia" and inscribed on the "IBBY Honour List". The books have been illustrated by prominent Slovak artists such as Jana Kiselová-Siteková, Dušan Kállay, Miroslav Cipár, Peter Uchnár, Oľga Bajusová, Peter Čisárik, Ľubo Paľo, Vlasta Baránková, Maja Dusíková, Svetozár Mydlo, Dávid Ursiny, Mária Nerádová, Martina Matlovičová and Vladimír Král.
