Agáta (The Witch Must Die)

It is 1602 and in a small town near Pressburg – today's Bratislava – lives a young woman who provokes many people with her unconventional marriage. She stands out in more than one way; people during her time were mostly herbalists or commonly engaged in folk magic, but Agáta catches the eye of someone who wants to show off their witch-hunting skills in front of the authorities. The author took inspiration from the story of the first witch burning in Pressburg, which took place in the early modern era, although its power and relevance have not been weakened by the centuries that separate it from the present.
