The 10th edition of Lit_cast Slowakei features the Austrian writer and translator Michael Stavarič. He was born in Brno, Czech republic in 1972 and he studied Czech studies and journalism at the University of Vienna. He is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, e.g. The Adelbert von Chamisso Prize and the Austrian State Prize for children's and YA literature. He had translated books of the Czech authors Patrik Ouředník, Petra Hůlová or Jiří Gruša. He teaches at universities in Salzburg and Bamberg. He lives in Vienna.
