A Poetic Evening on the Bank of the Danube

T3 - the cultural vehicle has moved from Trnavské mýto to Tyršovo nábrežie (Tyrš embankment) where it still offers multi-genre events to art lovers. On Sunday, the 8th of August, an international discussion and literary readings under the title Básnická Republika - stretnutie slovinsko-slovenskej poézie / Poetic Republic -- a Meeting of Slovenian and Slovak Poetry took place here.

Authors whose poetry appeared side by side in the anthology Slovinsko-česko-slovenská básnická republika (Slovenian-Czech-Slovak Poetic Republic), published by Centrum slovinskej literatúry, presented their work in front of the shut-down tram car. The anthology features poets from three countries:
- Slovenia: Alenka Jovanovski, Denis Škofič, Tone Škrjanec
- Czech Republic: Adam Borzič, Magdalena Šipka, Jan Škrob
- Slovakia: Dominika Moravčíková, Viliam Nádaskay, Zuzana Husárová

These authors translated each others's poems in a virtual translational workshop in 2020, and those of them who were able to travel despite the pandemic, came to Bratislava in August: Tone Škrjanec, Dominika Moravčíková, Viliam Nádaskay and Zuzana Husárová. The host and organizer of the event Aljaž Koprivnikar presented the work of all authors, even those unable to attend. The event was supported by the main partner of the event Fond na podporu umenia (The Arts Council) and by LITA, the authors' association.
