Bán is a photographer and reporter who has worked for Slovak and foreign media, reporting from areas of conflict such as Kosovo, Israel, Georgia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Ukraine and Haiti. He is also known for his consistent mapping of events in Slovakia. He has published the photography books Iné Slovensko (The Other Slovakia, 2005) and Kosovo (2008), a collection of photographs and articles Žijeme horšie ako mŕtvi (We Live Worse than the Dead) about the Georgian refugees from Abkhazia and the book Na juh od raja (South of Eden, 2016).
