Bán is a photographer and reporter who has worked for Slovak and foreign media, reporting from areas of conflict such as Kosovo, Israel, Georgia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Ukraine and Haiti. He is also known for his consistent mapping of events in Slovakia. He has published the photography books Iné Slovensko (The Other Slovakia, 2005) and  Kosovo (2008), a collection of photographs and articles Žijeme horšie ako mŕtvi (We Live Worse than the Dead) about the Georgian refugees from Abkhazia and the book Na juh od raja (South of Eden, 2016). He has won the Journalism Award in the categories of reportage and photography nine times, including eight times for .week and once for Denník N. His most recent books are Medzisny (2021), Trochu oheň, trochu voda (2019) and Slon na Zemplíne (2018). He currently works as a reporter and journalist for the daily Denník N.
