Born 18 September 1945 in Bratislava. In his native city he matriculated from the violin study section of the Conservatoire in 1964 and then studied dramatic arts at the Academy of Performing Arts. For many years he worked as an operetta and musical producer at the Nová scéna Theatre in Bratislava. Later he was a freelance writer.
At present Peteraj works in advertising.
