Soltész has investigated many incredible and brutal stories as a journalist. His fiction is inspired by real life and by the findings he dug up on the job. He has covered topics like politics, the mafia, and the privatization of the 1990’s. He has worked for a number of media and is currently a political commentator for TV JOJ. His novel Mäso / Flesh (2017) on the methods of the mafia employed by the authorities in eastern Slovakia was a popular and critical success.
