Mária Modrovich, born in Bratislava in 1977, is the author of four books of fiction. In her writing, she is known for drawing on her experiences from her travels and stays abroad and for examining topics related to women. Her collection of connected stories Flashback (Drewo a srd, 2017) was among the 5 finalists for the Anasoft Litera Award 2018 and and it was also nominated fo the European Union Prize for Literature in 2019. Her most recent book is Interview with a Cult Member (Drewo a srd, 2019). She co-organizes the international literary festival Novotvar held annually in Bratislava.
